Description

Monty is telling Robotman about his latest encounter with Emily, the librarian. "I asked Emily, "Is there a drinking fountain in here?" and she replied, "Right next to the copier"... Just like that... "Right next to the copier," in a hushed, secretive, tantalizingly provocative whisper..."

"Well, what did you expect?"

"Huh?" Monty rears away from Robotman.

"It's a library, stupid! Everyone talks this way!"

"Whoa... For a minute there I thought you were coming on to me."

Do people really whisper in libraries anymore? I don't know that they do. Libraries are still pretty quiet places, but I don't believe that I have ever heard whispering from anyone other than schoolchildren chatting with each other.
