1997 PRA AWARDS PICNIC
The 5th annual PRA Awards Picnic was held on 11/16/97 and the
event was a blast! Many PRA members were present for the family
event. We all stood around telling lies and watching the kids
mosh around the playground. Everyone was in kick back mode and
not in A*#HOLE RACE MODE!! After all, the season
was over and we were here to celebrate and pay tribute to all the
PRA Racers, Officials and Fans. It was gettin about noon . . .
. . . and Chris Bubetz and Ron Lummus fired up the trusty
B B Q's and started the chow train. It did not take long and these
veteran BBQ afficianados had the whole group quiet. We did not hear anyone
make a peep for nearly 15 mins. Well except for the potato chip
crunches and soda cans opening.
We all had our fill and then we watched Helen Sacchette and the PRA
kids assault the piñata. All scrambled for candy and had a
good laugh.
Bill Taylor gathered everyone and soon got down to business.
We had the raffle and all watched as the Sean Geers Militia took
home half the prizes. The raffle was full of laughs and over 50
prizes. Rocker Arms, Pulleys, Labor and Parts Certificates,
T-Shirts, Video Tapes and more all distributed to the chosen few.
Bill then awarded plaques to the top 3 point getters of all
PRA Classes. We all cheered the racers and were soon entertained
by Greg Brinton and his toy!! Vavoooom.
