He was carrying a large cardboard box, and ducked into the employees only area of the office so that he wouldn't have to walk through the waiting room. He passed behind my desk as I sat working on the computer, and he turned the corner to go around a short hall. He called out for me to come and help him. the box was so big and heavy in his arms that he couldn't get the key into the lock. So I unlocked the door for him, and , pushing the door open, I saw very clearly the gleaming metal of the crematorium- a full sized crematorium, just like the one's used in funeral homes. I went back to my computer. I could hear Dr. Tiller firing up the gas oven. A few minutes later I could smell burning human flesh. Mine was the agony of a participant, however reluctant, in the act of prenatal infanticide."

- For a moment, let us set aside some of the often blind passions about abortion and allow our minds to honestly consider this simple analogy about a baby chicken...
Would it be the taking of a life of a baby chicken to fry an omelet after taking an egg from the hen house?
Would that be the killing of a baby chick? Yes?- What if you left that egg to develop, came back before the chick started to peck its way out, and literately took a knife and plugged it through the egg and into its body as it writhed in pain?
What would you think of a neighbor who regularly performed such procedures with his knife in the name of cost effectiveness, etc?
Can we deny to ourselves that abortion is the same thing only with much higher stakes, that of human life?

(pictures are cartoons).- All honest people must agree that at some point during pregnancy we must consider the fetus a little human being, yet even at conception we must raise the moral question of the curtailing of human development, but the pendulum called "choice" has swung far away from this disadvantaged group.
- Rarely, in an injustice in the world, has so much "choice" been given to so many with personal incentives to act without regard to so many others (babies developing in the womb).
This situation has shown that we can look no further then abortion to see the evil of human nature and the essence of the abuse of the helpless.
It will only be pardoned away by those who know it will never apply to them. Or, will it never apply to them?
- Could abortion supporters honestly disapprove if the terrible discrimination of euthanasia where visited upon them? What if it became a "solution" for getting rid of the elderly as a dependent class?
- Would it be acceptable to deny elderly people the privilege of continuing on life support if they became dependent for basic life functions?
After all wouldn't it be legally defensible and consistent to say that valued life must be based on the basic ability to support one's own basic life functions, independent of others? And if you are so fundamentally dependent on others, then the "choice" for termination can be made by others, right?
Why should it matter that we can talk with you, ask your opinion, or look into your eyes? Why should it matter that we cannot talk with a baby fetus? Ethically, shouldn't we assume a fetus would "choose" life if she could?
Why do we shut our minds to injustice? Is it because we are not among the victims?
Is it because we dare not look for fear that if we see, if we look at abortion rationally we will not be able to live with it?
- Consider the truth, innocent people will be slaughtered today in our own country by our own people, yet these people pretend it is unfashionable to be against abortion.
Why do they do this?
- They do it because it keeps the voices of good silent. It keeps people from condemning the orgy of selfishness that is abortion. The same selfishness we recognize and condemn in the "deadbeat dads" who would "excercise their choice" to shirk all responablity for the life they helped create.

But often these same people are not concerned with the millions who are being killed by the deliberate decision of their own mothers. - For a moment let us set aside what "popular society" claims about abortion, and honestly consider how history will judge how we answer these questions.
How much value do "newly fertilized cells " really have?
We know the fetus has the potential for life as we know it, if treated properly. Even before fetuses develop a brain wave and viability outside the womb, they are on the same course of human development we have all progressed through. In fact, at the moment of conception, the process of human development begins. They are genetically as unique as their parents before them. Many put out false information claiming the unborn is only a blob of tissue, but science tells us that the fetus is a growing, thriving little being.

- Yet, we can still hear people thinking in the back of their minds, " Oh, but it's discomforting to have 'all those unwanted babies around.' "
When should human rights begin?
We can see with our own eyes living premature babies, yet those helpless innocent bodies are literally carved up and poisoned in unspeakable manners.
- Though there is much debate, we must consider if human rights should be due in full force to the fetus at conception, and I think all honest people must realize that fetuses in the latter stages are developing, viable humans. The idea that the abortion of a fetus is any more tolerable due to the the fact that the fetus had never been "awake," or could never have previously been recognized as an adult person is irrelevant as to the rights of the growing baby. Ethically, all people should have innate human rights. An unborn baby is never part of the mothers body. The fetus is as unique as her parents before her.
- Though it is not the easy way out, it would be a fearsome thing to shoulder the burden of death by choosing a timestamp for life during pregnancy that has any chance of being in error. Some people choose abortion as an easy way out of the burden of raising their child. However, the evil of resorting to the easy way out can be seen in the "deadbeat dad" who does not want the burden of supporting the life he helped create. I submit that aborting a fetus to escape the challenges of child raising is at least as terrible as the actions of the "deadbeat dad."
"Either the fetus is a person or not. Either we know what it is or we don't. This leaves only 4 possibilities:
- A fetus is not a person, and we know that. This has NEVER been any evidence to support this.
- A fetus is a person, and we know that. Killing an innocent person knowingly is murder.
- A fetus is a person, and we do not know that. Killing a person without knowing or intending to is manslaughter. It's like shooting at a sudden movement in a bush which may be a deer or another hunter.
- A fetus is not a person, and we do not know that. If the hunter didn't know for sure and shot anyway, it is criminal negligence, even if no one was killed."

- With advancements in medical technology we are facing more ethical questions about people on the fringes of life and death. Dying patients may survive for years, dependent on expensive machines for life functions. The basic question in these human rights questions is, "Can people, dependent on others for essential life functions, ethically be treated with any less value or dignity by the supporting person(s)?"
- Can we ethically say NO for dying patients, yet still say YES for the infant within the womb? If so, how much respect for life, and respect for our own life, could we really lay claim too?
- Consistency dictates that if we say YES for the infant and attach little value to the infant due to it's dependent state, then we need not attach value to the life of an elderly person dependent on life support technology or incuring great expense to prolong the dying process.
- Does it make a difference that we can talk with the elderly person, that we can look at her eyes? There should be no double standard. Fetuses should be treated with all the respect for life that elderly people are given.
- Imagine yourself an honest German citizen in the early 1940's. Imagine hearing the radio propaganda desensitizing the masses and labeling the Jews as trash and useless. What if you learned that thousands of Jews where being rounded up and extinguished in gas chambers. Wouldn't you feel a sense of horror that your own government could treat people with such evil? Wouldn't you feel like an evil force had suddenly darkened the skies of good?
- Today you are sitting at the computer reading, but when you see the sunrise tomorrow, will it still haunt you, like a suddenly gloomy sky, that within the span of one presidential term we will have terminated as many of our babies as the Nazi's did Jews?
- Sad and awkward as it might be to realize, we live in the midst of evil, and there will always be evil as long as human nature has the capacity for evil. Nevertheless, if there was something simple you could do to help change it, would you try?
- Consider yourself a Pro-life supporter and vote for candidates who will turn the tide in favor of life. If you do not vote, politicians simply will not care.
