X-Fic and Trek Fic

I've been a Star Trek fan since seeing Miri on its first network run in 1966, so that gives you an idea of how many times I've been around the block, but Trek in all its incarnations still gives me a thrill. Voyager is my current obsession, but I'm equally enamored of the rest of the Trek universe, just haven't gotten around to doing much about it yet. And now that I've joined the Alt.Startrek.Creative Archive Team, who the heck knows when that'll be...but hope springs eternal.

As for The X-Files, I was hooked very early on (I think Ice was what did it). I haven't written much in this universe, but you never know.

Thanks and hugs to all the friends I've made through both X and Trek, especially the amazing ladies of the DDEB2 -- whoda thunk the party would last three years and still be going strong? -- and the the men and women of PTFever, long may the RDM/RD flag wave.

Star Trek Voyager Fiction

Letters from the Delta Quadrant -- Although I've watched Voyager off and on since its debut, I only became immersed in it in the latter half of the third season. At that time, I rewatched the first half dozen or so episodes from Season One, and found myself intrigued by the premise of Eye of the Needle. I began wondering what kind of messages the crew would have sent via the Romulan commander Telek R'Mor. Thus was this story born!

Letters from the DQ is dedicated to Perri, who gave me my first introduction to Voyager fanfic and for lighting the Parisian spark, and to Melody, Tiz, Pam and Cathie for fanning the flames. Kung Pao, baby!

Voyager Fan Fiction by Others

  The Captain's Quarters: Fan Fiction by Captain Jinx -- I guess it was inevitable. When Captain Jinx wrote the first B'Elanna's Secret story, it was only intended to be a one-shot deal.

  A year, eight awards and nine stories later, I bow to the inevitable and give Captain Jinx's award winning fan fiction its own page. Most of the Captain's works are for adults only, mind you, but all of it is a delightfully witty exploration of the Paris/Torres relationship on Star Trek Voyager. Who, me? Biased? But even non-P/T fans have told me that they look forward to new installments in Captain Jinx's B'Elanna's Secret universe. Go on, give it a try!

  I didn't write this either -- the author is another dear friend of mine who wishes to be anonymous. It's both romantic and very hot -- read at your own risk! Winner of the 1997 ASCEM Golden Orgasm Award for Best J/C Story!

• Fan Fiction by Jane St. Clair -- I can't claim any of the credit for "discovering" Jane, but I am doing my darndest to get her a wider audience. Some of the loveliest Trek and X-fic I've seen in the past year. Most of it's rated NC-17, folks (Softly being a notable exception), so I must insist that only those 18 and over read the stronger stuff.

• Ephemeral -- Gossamer doesn't update fast enough for you? Can't find it on DejaNews? Try Ephemeral, the automated collector of stories that haven't yet been released to Gossamer. Automatically clears after each Gossamer update.
• Mulder, Scully, and Me -- Some lovely X-Files 'shipper fiction by my friend Linda Phillips. I think my favorite is Alpha and Omega. See what you think.
• Alt.Startrek.Creative Archive Index -- The official website of ASC, with more stories than you can shake a Talking Stick at. TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voyager, plus more. And if you can't wait for the website index to be updated, and need a new Trek fic like now, for even more up-to-date access, go to the raw ASC directory
• The ASCEM Golden O Archive -- Wow, all (or almost all) the 1997 winners in one place. Mmmm. Tasty. Must be over 18 to enter.

  Great fiction (my personal favorite is still Moonlight and Shuttlecraft, but Jamelia always spins a fine yarn -- also try The Mercenary (winner of the 1997 ASCEM Golden O for Best Voyager HetSmut Story) and Log Entries (third place for the 1997 ASCEM Golden O for Best P/T Story), thought-provoking essays and great links! Do yourself a favor and check out Warmth, Satisfaction, Quid Pro Quo and Those Who Are Left Behind -- in fact, print them out, then curl up in an armchair for a nice, satisfying read.
• Maisie Rita's Home Page -- Maisie writes like a dream, and makes me jealous as heck, and if you haven't read her stuff yet, why not? Be sure to read Enmity Mine and Closing In, two of my all-time favorites. And if you like C/P slash, don't miss the Sweet Dreams series.
• Brenda Antrim's Fan Fiction -- What can I say, except that her stories were inadvertantly responsible for my getting back into Voyager. I first became acquainted with the Bantrim "brand" through her X-Files slashfic, but that's not all she does. Really top-notch writing.
• Welcome to Ancarett's -- Some nice Voyager links and exquisite fiction. May I suggest Letters Never Sent?
• Talking Stick-Circle: a braided novel by Macedon and Pegeel -- Simply stated, some of the finest fiction you'll find anywhere. Bar none. And I don't mean just in the Star Trek world! (Yay! I found the link for the mirror site.)

• The DDEB2 Home Page -- "Sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters." OK, so I'm being corny -- I'm the resident mushbag. Ask anyone! These are the best 'net friends I could ask for -- "I love you, man!"

• Your Mining Co. Guide to Star Trek Fans -- A comprehensive, one-stop shop for all things Trek, directed by your host, Julia Houston. Nicely organized, with a ton o'links.
• We Be Amused -- My friend Joshua Macy has this cool little site, an homage to the nine Muses, chockful of reviews of comics, books, movies, animation, etc., and some nice links. Go! Check it out! You won't be sorry!
• Ask Jeeves has to be the most interesting search engine I've come across in awhile, though Hotbot is still my all-around favorite.
